Wiko continues to raise the bar and reach a higher level with the new Wiko Highway

Wiko returns to the fray with a new smartphone Android high end that can stand up to some heavy weights more mobile segment pointer. The new Wiko Highway makes a whole array of very leading parts as its eight-core processor or the camera system, in which we find a front sensor whopping 8 megapixels.

The Highway Wiko has an attractive design that combines aluminum and glass in a slim case. Since we already have used is a dual SIM and its price is competitive: 350 euros in free format. We see all the features below.

Following the usual trend in high-end Android, this Wiko Highway has a wide screen with a diagonal of 5 inches. Their resolution is FullHD and as a result gets focus no less than 441 pixels per inch, so sharpness is assured. The screen is multitouch and capacitive, so it recognizes gestures with multiple fingers simultaneously and detects soft touches without having to push. The manufacturer includes a sheet of glass resistant Corning Gorilla 2 to prevent scratches or cracks that can occur from everyday use.

As we have already mentioned, the design is one of the strengths of Wiko Highway, which clearly stands out from the rest of the range of Wiko. This time it has abandoned the housing with rounded edges, giving way to a form of straight edges that reminds us a little of the iPhone 5 and 5S. Aluminum frame and still present as seen in the frame around the device but the back is covered with sturdy glass. This resource also appears in some older iPhone and the large part of the Xperia range of Sony. The use of glass gives a more elegant touch, but has the disadvantage that it gets dirty easily with fingerprints. Another highlight is its thickness of only 7.7 millimeters, which gets a more stylish set.

Wiko has also invested in the high section of the camera, especially in the front chamber that has no less than 8 megapixels of resolution. This configuration is said that video calling and self-pictures will have better definition and larger, almost as if we did them with the main sensor. At the rear is an integrated 16 megapixel BSI sensor, prepared for success but the light conditions are a little scarce. It has auto focus, smile detection, LED flash, zoom, four increases and geo-tagging. Also Wiko introduces the option of HDR photo, get good portraits with Face Beauty or creating interesting effects with magic (Deletes objects or create animated pictures) Camera option. Of course the main camera records 1080p FullHD videos that can be viewed at full resolution on its screen.

In the multimedia section Wiko Highway meets the basic needs. It allows you to play the formats of audio, video and images more common, in addition to having a FM radio tuner and audio 3D.

The processor is certainly the most striking aspect of this Wiko Highway. The terminal incorporates a chip eight-core Cortex A7 operating at 2 GHz and is further supported by 2 GB of RAM. The architecture of the chip is not the newest, so its performance will not reach other heavyweights like the Snapdragon 800 with Krait cores, but it’s still a very potent for a terminal of this price range motor. What remains to be seen is whether the presence of the eight core temperature increases too.

On the other hand Wiko Highway goes in a version with 16 GB capacity, but as we know the total will be less available to deduct what concerns the system. Also not allowed to expand the memory and some users may take in takes more space.

The Highway goes Wiko standard with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, a version that is somewhat out of date, although it has features like Google Now or customizable widgets. Wiko introduces a fairly light coat that respects visual appearance of Android. The terminal has the basic Google apps like Gmail, Google Calendar, the Chrome browser or suite of navigation GPS Google Maps. It also offers access to many more applications through the shop Play Store, which has already exceeded one million content.

Profile Wiko connections Highway has everything you need to develop the usual tasks of a smartphone, but do not have too pointers systems. Mobile Connect runs through the HSPA standard, commonly known as 3G, and does so 21 Mbps download speed. It also allows for connection with WiFi and WiFi Hotspot system we can turn it into a kind of pocket modem to share the connection to another device, even a computer. Nor could he miss the Bluetooth connection, the GPS antenna and the two basic physical ports: headphone jack and microUSB. The Highway Wiko also added a double MicroSIM card slot, so users with two phone lines will not be burdened with two terminals.

The Highway Wiko has a battery of 2,350 milliamps, but so far have not provided data on the duration it will offer. What we do know for sure is that will be on sale from next Wednesday, February 12th and will cost 350 euros.
