The two terminals Nokia Lumia 1520 and LG G Flex can be classified as phablets
Large screens have plagued the catalogs of the most famous brands of smartphones and five inches have become commonplace at any high end. However, there are devices that take the idea to the next level, mounting panels six inches diagonally, are what we know as tablet phones or phablets. Nokia account Lumia 1520 in this category, a terminal broad that promises a more multimedia experience complete. The terminal is powerful, has a clear display and its camera is one of the most advanced of the moment. On the other hand LG has another model with panel 6 inches; we talk about the LG G Flex. This device has the distinction of having a curved screen, but it is also pliable. We compare the main features of these two models.
As already mentioned, the two models have a screen 6 inches, but this is the only similarity because neither use the same technology nor have the same resolution. We started with the Nokia Lumia 1520, which features a panel IPS LCD refresh rate of 60 Hz, resolution FullHD 1080p and a density of 368 ppi, almost nothing. Also, it has the system ClearBlack, which increases contrast and improves visibility in any situation, and has an improved sensitivity that allows the handling even if we some gloves posts. The LG G Flex panel has a curved OLED with true RGB matrix and its resolution is HD720p, therefore, its density is lower (245 ppi).
The design is the key point of the LG G Flex, and its extremely curved shape that does not go unnoticed. If we see in profile, the curve is very steep, but this feature really has no practical use. The only thing we get with this curve that best suits our face when we talk on the phone, but nothing more. But most striking is not the form itself, but the terminal is flexible and can be stretched if we press on it against a flat surface, but again does not have a practical sense.
What is interesting is that the back cover is made with a self-healing material and small scratches caused by everyday use disappear after a few hours-yeses, watch the deeper scratches because these do not disappear. The LG G Flex is very broad, but it is lighter than its opponent. The Nokia Lumia 1520 has a chassis made of a single piece of polycarbonate, a very durable material, but it does increase the weight above 200 grams. The device has very good finishes, with rounded edges, bright colors and a textured matt very smooth.
There is no doubt that the camera is the highlight of the Nokia Lumia 1520 and therefore absolute winner goes in this section. Its camera has more resolution, a higher quality lens and advanced features. We speak of a sensor 20 megapixels, ready to take pictures in low light conditions. This also has a Carl Zeiss lens, and a bright optical stabilizer prevents shakiness in both photos and videos. The terminal has a set of high-resolution digital zoom, dual LED flash and a whole string of special features that Nokia ample applications Refocus, Smart Cam, Glam Me or Creative Studio to name a few. Also g Raba FullHD video at 30 frames per second and has a 1.2 megapixel secondary camera. The LG G Flex has a 13 megapixel BSI sensor together with the usual features such as LED flash, auto focus, recording FullHD video (in this case 60 fps ) and 2.1 megapixel front camera.
The Nokia Lumia 1520 has some unique features like multimedia Nokia Music with Mix Radio and Xbox Music. It also has stereo sound system and a high quality recording with four microphones. The LG G Flex has s ound high fidelity and both provide a good profile of formats supported.
The operating system is the point that most distinguishes these two models. They may have different resolution screens or very different cameras, but the platform is what really affects the handling and gives the user experience. The Nokia Lumia 1520 has Windows Phone 8, a platform that stands out for its ease of use and the structure of Live Tiles. The system is very dynamic, going extremely fluid and has amenities both Nokia as Microsoft. These functions include Microsoft Office, maps Nokia HERE, applications Nokia camera or Xbox Live.
The biggest drawback of Windows Phone 8 is that it is a younger system and its application store has a variety of platforms more consecrated. The LG G Flex, meanwhile, boasts Android and just updated to version 4.4.2 KitKat. What about Android that we do not know. This is one of those consecrated platforms could say its “platform” and has a virtually endless applications ecosystem. The mobile operating system of Google stands out for its versatility and customization options are almost endless. It also comes with the whole package of Google integrated which consists of YouTube, Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Maps among other functions.
