The announcement of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has generated a lot of buzz, which to an extent, has overshadowed the release of the phone’s prime rival – the iPhone 6 Plus. The specs of the Note 4 have had people salivating more than they did for models such as the Samsung Galaxy S5. The Note 3 weighs 168 grams, whereas the Note 4 is slightly heavier, and weighs 176 grams.
The Note 3 features a removable battery with a capacity of 3200 mAh while the Note 4 has a non-removable 3220 mAh battery.
The two models have the same capacitive 5.70” touchscreen size, but the Note 4has a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels compared to 1080 x 1920 of the Note 3.
The Note 3 is powered by a 1.9 GHz octa-core processorExynos 5420/Snapdragon 800,whereas the Note 4 has a much faster – Exynos 5433/Snapdragon 805.
The Note 4 has a 16MP primary camera with optical image stabilization, while the Note 3 has a 13MP system. The secondary cameras are 3.7 and 2MP respectively.
The Note 4 comes with an array of new features such as Multi-screen, fingerprint scanner, UV sensor and heart rate monitor.
The Note 4 runs Version 4.4 whereas the Note 3 runs version 4.3 of the same Magazine UX over Android Kit-Kat.
Unlike its predecessor – the Note 3 – the Note 4 supports Java, which is definitely a welcome change.
The Note 4 feature a download booster that combines Wi-Fi and 4G to give you a theoretical maximum download speed of a whopping 400Mbps!
The new S-Pen bundled with the Note 4 is a notable improvement compared to the stylus of Note 4 in terms of ease-of-use as well as accuracy.
Although there are various factors that make Samsung Galaxy Note 4 a notable advancement over its predecessor, the phablets do share some similarities as well. Let’s take a look:
