Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition has brought much change which is really fantastic
Samsung launched its tablet Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 in 2012 and investing in creating a range of products with the Note which are characterized by the presence of S Pen stylus. This tablet quickly became the most advanced model of the mark by features such as 10.1-inch panel, the 5 megapixel camera or processor quad-core Exynos. All complemented by the smart features included as standard, which convert this terminal in a sort of digital versatile notebook notes.
A few months ago, in September 2013, the Korean brand renewed this model with the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition. The new tablet keeps the essence of the first model but improves substantially all of its specifications. But we will not advance anything, the better you see in the comparison below.
Samsung has not changed the size of the panel between the two models Galaxy Note 10.1 and, as its name suggests, both feature a display of 10.1 inches. Where do differ is in the type of panel and resolution. On the one hand we have the Original Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, which has a panel TFT with resolution HD (1,280 x 800 pixels) and a density of 150 ppi. Moreover edition 2014 bets on a screen Super Clear LCD, with resolution 2560 x 1600 pixels and a density of no less than 299 ppi, almost double.
The design has also changed and the latest model sports a more refined shapes and a slimmer chassis. Besides its back cover is finished with a texture that mimics leather and gives a similar to a folder or notebook look more serious notes. Although the screen size is the same, Samsung has reduced the frame in the 2014 edition and thus a more compact device and, incidentally, it gets lighter (about 60 grams less). Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 The original has a coarser shape and a silver frame around it is too bulky.
A tablet is not a device designed to take pictures, but still Samsung usually introduce a dual camera system in all its products. The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 features a rear sensor 5-megapixel with video recording FullHD and a front of 1.9 megapixel which records video HD720p. Meanwhile the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition has a primary camera of 8 megapixels to record video FullHD (60 fps) and a lead of 2 megapixel which also records video FullHD. Both models feature an LED flash and support in low light situations.
Power is a key issue for Samsung and how could it be otherwise, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition has greatly improved its performance. The company offers two different processors depending on the connections. Thus, the LTE model has a 800 Snapdragon quad-core, which runs at 2.3 Ghz. On the other hand versions with WiFi or 3G integrate a Exynos 5 Octa, which consists of two quad-core processors each, but one operates at 1.9 GHz and the other at 1.3 Ghz. To make matters worse both have 3Gb of RAM. On the other hand the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is only available in a configuration that integrates a quad-core Exynos, running at 1.4 GHz and 2 GB of RAM.
As for the operating system, the two are logically but the Android version is different. The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is older and left the factory with Android 4.0, but later was upgraded to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Meanwhile the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition has version 4.3 and is expected to receive Android 4.4 soon KitKat.
Exclusive features to the stylus are what make devices Note something else. Both have features like MultiWindow, to split the screen and use two apps at the same time, or S Note to take notes by hand and then add predefined images or drawings. Include S Planner, S Memo Touch or Adobe Photoshop for retouching images. But eventually returns to play a decisive role and makes the 2014 edition is ahead in having new functions. Users can quickly trigger a series of functions with Air Command and Action Memo, Scrapbook, Screen Write, S Finder or Window Pen.
The latest model follows in section ahead of the connections on an important point: the connection or 4G LTE. But other functions are practically at the same level. We talked about free 3G. WiFi high-speed Bluetooth 4.0, antenna GPS Glonass, DLNA, WiFi Direct, connecting headphones and a port microUSB. In the section of the battery see the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 falls a bit behind with a capacity of 7,000 milliamps, compared to 9,000 milliamps the new model. However difference is balanced considering their technical differences.
Samsung has put all eggs in one basket and has improved both the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition, which we seem to be comparing it to a product of two generations ago, not one. The new model has a sharper screen and comes with all the functions for the S Pen, not to mention the power and camera. The Original Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 lags far behind its successor, partly because in the time of its release did not bet by the sharpshooting components (e.g. the screen) and so the difference is greater. However almost 200 euros difference is between them represent a clear disadvantage for the 2014 Edition Note 10.1.
