The Chinese manufacturer Huawei has presented to the world its new smartphone Huawei Ascend P7. From what we could find in the presentation, the new handset will hit the market during this month of May with a starting price to be around 450 euros. This is a smartphone that comes with the intention to succeed the current Huawei Ascend P6. To get in position, we should know that we are talking about a terminal that includes a five-inch screen, a quad-core processor running at 1.8 GHz, 2 GigaBytes of RAM, 16 GigaBytes of internal storage, main 13 megapixel camera and 2,500 milliampere battery. Let’s see if these specs respond as they should.
The thickness of the Huawei Ascend P7 is 6.5 mm, which makes it one of the slimmest phones on the market. This reduced thickness makes the mobile transmit an absolute feeling of lightness once we have it in hand, which also is given by the low weight of the terminal (124 grams). In short, the phone feels comfortable and firm hand.
If we refer to its appearance, the Huawei Ascend P7 has a fairly simple line in which both top corners and bottom corners of the phone is rounded for easy grip and to not create discomfort in the hand during use. The front of the terminal consists of a speaker, a sensor and a camera at the top of the screen, while at the bottom we find the logo of Huawei placed on a small strip of the same color as the casing. The buttons on the operating system, Android are directly integrated into the display.
In the rear, the Huawei Ascend P7 presents a curious case with metal look glass technology protected by Gorilla Glass 3 (like the screen). In short, the design of the entire housing of the mobile is modern and robust, so that in this respect there is no detail to object. The screen of the Huawei Ascend P7 is five inches and has a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. The screen image is very sharp both indoors and outdoors, enabling the use of the terminal in any situation without excessive lighting can influence the quality of the image.
We did not detect any problems in relation to the screen of this smart phone. The quality of the image corresponds exactly to what one might expect from a screen resolution Full HD. The main chamber of the Huawei Ascend P7 sensor incorporates a 13 megapixel photograph that ensures a resolution of 4,160 x 3,120 pixels and a video with a speed of 30 frames per second (and 1080 pixel resolution). This is data that fall short of what you might expect from a company incorporated in a mobile camera in this range.
But the front-facing camera is that surprises us by incorporating an eight megapixel sensor. This sensor does not only guarantee an auto- photographs with an unusual quality in front cameras of smart phones, but it also has allowed Huawei add a new way of photography panoramic selfie (or “Groufie”). This new mode lets you take a picture of self-portrait image further including the landscape around us.
The camera application has several additional options designed to customize the snapshots. These options must highlight mode “Beauty”, which allows us to remove a few years off when take a photograph of type selfie. Besides, we also find other options such as the mode of “Best Picture” (to automatically select the best image of a roll of photographs) or well-known as a “Panoramic”.
One aspect to highlight in the main camera of this mobile is that, even with the screen locked, just you press twice on the button to lower the volume for the handset will automatically take a picture of what you are seeing in order to the camera. This picture is taken in about one second, allowing us to capture unique moments that require very fast to take the picture at the right moment.
Built-series processor Huawei Ascend P7 is quad core, answers to the name of HiSilicon Kirin 910T and operates at a clock speed of 1.8 GHz. Alongside this we also processor memory RAM, with a capacity of 2 gigabytes. These specifications ensure a good flow both when navigating through the menus of mobile as when running applications that require higher performance (see a game, for example).
As for the internal storage of the 16 gigabytes incorporating this mobile standard, we have at our disposal a total of 11.41 gigabytes. Since this is a space that we may fall short by little we begin to store images and videos in high resolution, the ideal is that we use the card slot microSD card to use external memory up to 64 gigabytes.
The Huawei Ascend P7 series installed operating system is Android in its latest version of Android 4.4.2 KitKat. Turning on the phone for the first time, we will find a small selection of applications including well-applications Google such as Gmail, Google Maps, Hangouts or Chrome – also will have other apps like Flashlight, FM Radio, Magnifying or Themes.
And just this last application of topics is what opens us a real world of possibilities in order to customize the look of your mobile. From this application we can change all the visuals and sound both the terminal. In addition to different topics (i.e. designs) available to us on the phone, this also allows you to change the style of the font (the font style) and the tone of each of the notifications.
