HP Envy Rove 20 is still heavy and unwieldy equipment if we use it as something more than a traditional PC
There is no surprise that personal computers are changing, but the variety of models that exist right now in the market has grown exponentially. The HP Envy Rove 20 is a really peculiar model. It would be difficult to include in any traditional category, although the initial approach is a desktop computer of All In One. It is a desktop, but it has some portability. It can be used as a huge 20-inch Tablet and used in different positions. How does a computer versatile or a hybrid more?
On any other computer we started talking about its power or its memory, but in this case should start with the design. And it is not too much like most of the computers that we use. It has a diagonal touch screen of 20-inch and a resolution 1600 x 900 pixel. It’s the size of a small TV and much larger than most monitors that use laptops. However, it is not at all strange when we sat in front of it. As in so many other devices, then we used to use a larger screen than usual.
The screen is touch-sensitive, and the accompanying operating system. And it is that Windows 8 is designed to be used with fingers. With the computer vertically strange hands closer to the screen, this is not a sign that we used to perform on a computer. But the screen moves, and takes positions that are not exactly those of a PC. The rear support team can be in any position.
We can leave the computer on the table and use it like a giant tablet, or even if our legs about five kilos of weight did not pose too much trouble. Clearly it is not a tablet, but it seems. The design of the clean lines and finishes are similar to those that have one of these devices. But it’s not a tablet, it’s a desktop. In the same box we find a keyboard and a wireless mouse ready to use like any other All in One
As desktop All In One is perfectly useful, as well as traditional. That is precisely why an interesting model. As strange experiment tablet, and spend that is easy to move around the house, we can not speak exactly portability when faced with a team of five kilos of weight. However, as PCs conforms perfectly, and adds a few interesting additions.
The team boasts an Intel Core processor I3-4010u’s newest line of processors that the American brand has in the market: Haswell. It has a clock frequency of 1.7GHz. It is not the greatest power that we can find in the market, but you can’t talk about that is a low-end model.
There have been no problems with browsing the Internet or manage applications that exist by default on your computer, but also more demanding programs with performance as Photoshop. This helps the GPU which integrates the computer, an Intel HD 4400, which has no problem with programs like graphics and editing. However, it is not a computer for gamers, so that more recent and demanding games on the market if it may have some difficulty.
Along with this, it has 4 GB of DDR3 RAM and a 1 TB hard drive. To speed up performance, it also carries an 8 GB flash memory unit. It is not an actual SSD unit, but it has a similar performance. The result is a team that moves smoothly in traditional part of Windows, the mouse and keyboard, as with the fingers on the screen.
The WiFi internet connection goes especially well thanks to 802.11ac connectivity. This new standard achieves higher transmission speeds, but also improves the signal range. This is especially convenient if you live in a house plants or a very large one. Also as Wi-Fi, it is equipped with bluetooth 4.0. In terms of the physical connections are three USB 3.0 ports, on both sides of the screen. The left side also has an audio jack of 3.5 mm, and an external input microphone. On the other side has a card reader to three formats, including SD usual.
The chosen ecosystem is, predictably, Windows 8. Such an ecosystem may have more or less accepted by the users, but it’s true that a team like this comes in handy. And the dual interface that has the Microsoft system fits well with the versatility of this HP equipment. On the one hand we can use the traditional Windows 7 desktop when we are facing the HP Envy Rove 20 as if it were a traditional computer with your keyboard and mouse. Moreover, when slip screen and use it with your fingers, the new interface of Windows 8 is much better suited as it is this system, the touch, the better understood.
Windows 8 has many own applications, but mostly it is compatible with all programs made for previous versions of windows system. HP has equipped version with some apps and games themselves, designed to exploit a large touchpad.
