Discover the discrepancies between Samsung Galaxy S5 and Samsung Z
Samsung introduced a few days ago with its first smartphone Tizen, the Samsung Z. Though not hit stores for another few months, this terminal marks the beginning of a new range of products in the catalog in addition to the well-known Samsung Galaxy range with Android. The company aims to offer an alternative to their customers as they did with Bada, their mobile OS previous header. The account of the Samsung Z could be classified as mid-range, but also committed some of the most advanced pieces of Samsung Galaxy S5. We do a comparison to see all their differences.
The new Samsung Z features a 4.8 inch screen, slightly more compact than the five-inch model with Android, but both are of type Super AMOLED. The resolution did not match and the Samsung Galaxy S5 takes the prize because it offers 1,920 x 1,080 pixels and 432 dots per inch density. The panel of the Samsung Z distributes 1,280 x 720 pixels, so its density is lower, namely 306 dots per inch.
Samsung wanted to give a different touch to the design of its new model, thus distinguishing both ranges. The Samsung Z has a form of square corners that combines rounded edges with other more marked, while the Samsung Galaxy S5 dominated soft and curved forms. Both have the back cover with a light texture to improve grip; the Samsung Galaxy S5 has points and the Samsung Z mimics the skin. The Samsung Galaxy S5 is wider and heavier, but also has a degree of protection against water and dust, so you can safely dip (long as the lid is closed).
The Samsung Galaxy S5 also has a full camera. It is a 16 megapixel sensor ISOCELL, who is prepared to give good results in low light conditions. It features LED flash, system ultra-fast autofocus, selective focus, so HDR and face detector. It also allows you to record videos as 2160p and also record slow motion if the quality is reduced. The front camera is two megapixels of resolution.
The Samsung Z has a sensor of eight megapixels and comes with the usual features. We refer to l LED flash, auto focus, Geotagging, video recording and also front – 2.1-megapixel camera in this case. Samsung has added a number of unique features in its new model, like for example Best Photo, Drama Shot or Dual Camera. The multimedia section is pretty even and, like Android, Tizen is also compatible with a long list of formats of audio, video and images.
In spite of the differences in other sections, the power is more even. The Samsung Galaxy S5 has a chip Snapdragon 801 a quad-core Krait 400 operating at 2.5 Ghz. Samsung has not specified what the model processor the Samsung Z, but it is a quad core 2.3 Ghz. Both have 2 GB of RAM. For the internal memory, the Galaxy S5 can be obtained in versions 16 and 32 Gb, expandable to 128 Gb additional cards MicroSD. The Samsung Z will only be sold in a version of 16 Gb and accepts MicroSD 64Gb.
The operating system is the point that most differentiates the two terminals before us. The Samsung Galaxy S5 features Android 4.4 KitKat, while the Samsung Z launches the new platform Tizen in version 2.2.1. It’s clear that Android has many advantages over Tizen, starting with its huge ecosystem of applications, which will open a range of almost endless possibilities. So far there has been no opportunity to test the user experience of Tizen, but images seen one quite like the TouchWiz interface design that Samsung uses on its Android range. The two models share some features like fingerprint sensor located on the start button and the heart rate meter from the rear. Include the application S Health 3.0, the mode energy saving and shock enhancer.
The connection profile is another meeting point between the two terminals. Both have connectivity 4G, 3G, WiFi high speed and also allow to create a WiFi zone. All other wireless connections are formed by a chip NFC antenna Glonass GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 and a port Infrared -the system of the Samsung Galaxy S5 also adds ANT +. Both have a MicroUSB connector and headphones.
The battery of the Samsung Galaxy S5 has 2,800 milliamps of capacity and can be turned on for 21 hours in use and up to 390 hours standby. The Samsung Z has a 2,600-milliamp battery but no data about their autonomy.
As mentioned earlier, the Samsung Z is a mid-range model and is reflected in points as the screen or the camera, where the Samsung Galaxy S5 is better off. However, Samsung has tried to emulate a user experience similar parts as the sensor tracks and special functions as S Health 3.0. However, the Samsung Z is quite far from the flagship of the brand, both at the technical level and software, and is that Android isn’t the most popular mobile platform in the world by chance. It will have to wait for the launch of the Samsung Z to carefully analyze the options offered Tizen.
